I am thinking of heading to the hill on the afternoon of November 15. I have to run to Hillsboro that morning to secure a donation for WMSTR, and will be bringing it to the hill that afternoon... that is why I cannot be there in the morning.

So... would anyone be interested in getting together that afternoon and working for a few hours to clean up the wood pile area in preparation for the following weekend, the big wood cutting weekend? We need to sort out last years wood so that is does not get buried with the new stuff. Call it rotating the stock! Also we will get the conveyor and the elevator set up for the following weekend.

If you can help, please let me know right here... and watch this thread in case plans change!

Mark, I will not be able to come out for the 14th or the 22nd. Sorry I haven't been on the forum much, but college is really time consuming and WMSTR has done fine without me for 50 years, so a few more while I'm in school shouldn't hurt.
Thanks again for everything you do with the forum and organization of the show. Have a good day Woodcutting; I will be thinking about all the fun I have had cutting slab and splitting stumps before. =)

Don't worry about it Casey. School comes first.

I am going to be on the grounds on the afternoon of the 15th (weather permitting) to move some wood around, and get ready for the following big weekend. I would appreciate any help I can get.

I can't be there much before 2PM, but if you can be there earlier than that, I can sure let you know what needs done to get started. It will really go quickly if we can get 6 or 7 (or 15) people out there to help. Either way we will not work in the dark, and that comes early these days.

Thanks all!

Good morning, Mark.
Just trying to find out how to get a message to you about Jeff and I being on the hill the weekend of the 15th to help you as well as doing some Hitterdal work.

Mark,

I plan to come down on the 15th to help. The timing should work out good as I plan to go in to my nuisance job for the morning...

Let me know if anything changes, otherwise I'll see you on Saturday.

This forum works good for setting up things like this Cory... Good to see you on!

Thanks Nick! I know you started to clean this area up years ago... I am trying to keep it going!

In case anyone is there before I can get there on Saturday... What I have in mind is for the old wood to get used up first. We need to move what is there right up to the gates to the fenced in area, and then we will run the new stuff up the conveyor in behind the old wood (the following weekend). If there is enough people there, I want to actually stack the old wood right across the gates to the fenced in area (instead of just throwing it there).

As far as the scraps... I wanted to haul them away to the boneyard where that old pickup camper is so that it all can be burned together. I don't really want a pile of scraps in the way for the wood cutting weekend.

I am good to go for tomorrow. I will be out there in the early afternoon sometime. Until I get there you should all know what to do...

Weather forecast is for partly sunny and mid 30's. At least there is no mention of rain!

Hope to see you there!
