I thought I should get some pics up here! I wish I were more on the ball, but seems like life caves in after showtime! We attended the annual meeting and represented the Ortner. We discussed our major issues coming in to next year...our greatest concern is fixing our water tower and adding a pump to the water line to ensure ample water suck-age and supply. Thanks to the WMSTR board for approving a budget for us for next year which will allow the needed repairs and/or replacements.
Something we wish we would have done sooner is thank our crew. The Ortner is blessed with an honest, helpful, caring and respectful crew. They all work hard to make sure the show is wonderful every year. They handle the engine like it is their own and they inform and entertain the on-lookers and passengers like they are family. Dan especially would like to extend gracious appreciation for the help received in closing up the circle at the end of the show. It takes a lot to open her up, and more to close her down. Help moving doors and closing windows and putting things away was abundant and very appreciated!
The Ortner really has a spectacular crew. We cant say enough about them. We are all one big happy team and it makes the time we spend there a joy. BOX CARS OF THANKS TO ALL OF YOU! There are engineers, maintenance workers, conductors and many others who just help when we ask. You are all appreciated. If not for everyone doing their part, it would not be possible. We cannot say it enough: Thank You!

Great pictures Dawn! Thanks for putting them up. I have a few I have been meaning to resize and put up but where does the time go? Seems like just yesterday we were up there but now winter is quickly approaching.
Looking forward to next season! Take care!

Rick, Thanks! Mark, Thanks! And I agree! Rick, Peter replaced our water tower stand about 3 or 4 shows ago when the original threatened to rot away. Shelly, Thanks and you are welcome. Patiently looking forward to seeing your pics!

Great pictures from the show Dawn. I think the Ortner crew is at it's best when they have a hamburger in their hand. Looking at the pictures makes one anxious for spring to come. I never saw a followup post on the Grand Scale trains forum, but I'm still willing to be your fireman when you buy that steam train Shelly. It can't take you more than a couple of lifetimes to pay for it. Peter

I've been meaning to get a picture up for a while now, ugh... snow. Cold and snow, good time to look back at warmer times.

My wife Beth and son Aidan going for a ride. If we would have bribed the right person for one more lap, Aidan would have been out cold. He was very, very tired by this point. He still gets excited every time the Ortner shows up on the 2007 video.
