Well... if you missed it, you missed a good time and a great meal!

The day didn't start out so good for me. I lost 5th gear in my pickup, but this is a known issue with the Dodge 5 speed, and is not that big of a fix, so I guess I am not going to let that get to me!

We must have had 40+ people around. There were quite a few cameras taking pictures, and I am not sure how many will end up here, but I will contribute a few to get things going! Please post yours if you have some!

I am not going to attempt to mention names for a couple of reasons! 1... there are too many people in some of the pictures and I would not want to miss anyone, and 2... some of the folks are not easily recognized with all the winter garb on!

First, a couple of pictures of the splitting and piling operation close to the wood pile.

Another one of the WMSTR splitter down in the circle near the TMB.

There was a LOT of slab wood cut up. This operation was in the circle near the workers eat shack. I think there were 3 saw rigs cutting slab wood.

Chain saws were buzzing everywhere! Must have been a dozen of them cutting up wood for the splitters.

Here are some of the crew at work down in the circle.

A BIG pile of wood... BIG logs!

And the best part! FOOD!!! Thank you to all of the ladies for the excellent and WARM meal! It was delicious!

Also, thank you to the Nelson family for the use of their shop!

This wood cutting day is one of the WMSTR traditions! If you have never been there, please try to attend next year! Even if you don't own a pickup, trailer, chain saw, or splitter... there is plenty to do! We work hard for a few hours, but the payback is being able to spend time with all of your Rollag friends!

Thank you very much to all who showed up and helped! We all really appreciate it!

Donut tasting seems to have gotten all the way out to steamer hill. This is the beginning of the line early saturday morning:rof:

Looks to me like Clayton and Wimpy are waiting for you to put he camera away so they can "dig in"! :biglaugh:

BTW... I did look at the "Free Donuts" and they were the wrong flavor, so I passed!

Thought I'd post some pictures from woodcutting day on the north edge of the grounds, where there's a shelter belt we're cleaning out. My pictures aren't very good for some reason, but I'll post the best ones I have.

This is 7:15 in the morning and waiting for the foreman to show up.

I'll be like Mark and keep names to a minimum, as I'm sure I'll miss someone. As the chainsaws are cutting the small branches, the rest of us are hauling the scraps into piles.

In the background, Jim B is starting to cut one of the big trees.

We made sure everyone was out of the way, hollered 'Timber', and it landed exactly where Jim said it would.

And 'Ditto' to what Mark said about the meal at the Nelson Shop. Even thought it was chilly outside, it's always fun to congregate and visit, while warming up in the shop.
