Zachary Beyer
Zachary Beyer, 16, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Saturday, December 27, 2008 after a short courageous battle with brain cancer at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Zach was born on June 18, 1992 the son of Lisa (Helliksen) and Dale Beyer in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Frazee and Detroit Lakes. Zach was currently in the 10th grade at ALC in Detroit Lakes.
Zach enjoyed spending his summers in Rollag, Minnesota, especially during the Western Minnesota Steam Thresher’s Reunion in which he was an active member. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, deer hunting, snowmobiling, camping and working on the restoration of classic cars.
Zach is survived by his mother, Lisa Beyer of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, father, Dale Beyer of Frazee, Minnesota; one brother, Trevor, two sisters, Shelby and Michaela Beyer all of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; maternal grandmother, DeAnn Buhr of Frazee, Minnesota; paternal grandmother, Joyce Beyer; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Zach was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Orlean Helliksen, paternal grandfather, Donald Beyer, uncle Brian Helliksen.
