Can anyone give me an answer to what is the differerence between and Thresher, a separator and a combine?

Threshers and separators are the same animal. They're the stationary machines that thresh out the already-harvested grain.
"Combine" comes from the early used term; "Combined harvestor" which means that it not only cuts the grain down, it also threshes it all in one operation. Nowadays, we call it "straight combining" as opposed to "combining" grain that has been windrowed.

Windrowed would be when they cut the grain and let it lay in the field?

Who will be involved in the "threshing" part of the Show this year and what do they plan on doing? I'd like to know for the book.

To answer the first part of your post, yes. This procedure is known more popularly as "swathing".
