2 years ago today the WMSTR Community Forum went live!

:dancingparty: Happy Birthday To Us! :dancingparty:

The night we put it up, Vern, Rick and I started the process with Stephen at KVC around 7:00 in the evening. We got it up, running, and the initial layout done and live about 3:00 the next morning!

I would like to personally thank Vern (vnanosky) and Rick (40Avery) for the help that night, and for the continued interest and help running the forum. Also to Stephen at KVC for providing the server space and bandwidth FREE for the first year, and for a darn good deal ever since.

Thanks to the other moderators here as well, especially Tim (Dachtera) and Dawn (dclong) for their hard work. I can always lean on Tim for technical advice, and I WILL NOT upgrade the software that drives this thing without having him close by!

My biggest thanks go out to all of you who make this site what it is! There are some OUTSTANDING threads on these pages that tell priceless stories, and I feel very fortunate that they are told here... be it the restoration of a steam traction engine, a gas tractor, or just plain life on the grounds (or in Fargo at one of Louie's donut tastings.) There is a lot of excellent information and discussions held here. We are all better for it, or at least entertained!

We also have remembered and paid our respects to members who have gone on before us... a very important part of what we do here!

I am still having a blast with this site folks! Here is to our next 2 years and beyond!

I want to thank everyone who made this forum possible and congratulate you on 2 years "on line". Living 3 hours from the "Hill" can sometimes make one feel disconnected from all of the activities that go on during the year, but the forum is a big help in keeping us informed.

Thanks again and congratulations!!!!!!

My wishes for a Happy Birthday to this forum as well. Because of it, I have made contact and met personally two of the more prominent members of the forum which gave me the opportunity to play a little by pulling the throttle of a Reeves, and recording Jerry's readings from his Prony brake. Both have enhanced my enjoyment of both Rollag and New Rockford.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot 40 Avery, too. :biggringift:

Thanks!!

Yes, it has been a great addition. Tom, try keeping up from 11 hours away! This board is wonderful to keep tabs on what all is going on. I appreciate it very much and hardly a day goes by that I don't check in to see what new things are happening.

And for those who don't already know this... Jim (mrnewway) contributes to the Donut Tasting work days, even though he is 3 days away! As Louie has mentioned elsewhere, Jim buys us the Donuts!

Thanks again Jim! They are very tasty!

Kept me up to date when I was three days away. Now it does the same that I am closer to three hours away. Also helps me to learn when there are times that I can help out. Thanks to all that contribute on this forum. Extra thanks to all who help run it.
