We had another great work weekend at Larson Welding!
Projects included we the one's in Lynette's list here (http://www.wmstrcommunityforum.com/showthread.php?t=105), and we made great progress, and even finished some of them.
I have a few pictures, but I had to leave early so I didn't get as many as I would have liked.
First, the belt conveyor. This machine is used during the show with the rock crusher exhibit in the construction area. It is also used on wood cutting weekends to stack wood on the pile. We have had a lot of trouble with it as it was powered by an electric motor, and we kept burning them up! It was decided to power it with PTO, as there are plenty of tractors with PTO shafts to do that duty.
First... Ira Hill and Tim Moen work on the top end of the belt conveyor. The mounting plate had to be moved for the new gear box.

A view of the new power shaft going up the side of the conveyor. There will be a PTO shaft hooked to the gearbox on the lower end. PVC pipe was used to cover the 1" shaft for safety.

Kelly Muhl welding something... I didn't ask him what is was!

And finally... Lunch was served as promised! Roast pork sandwiches and chips! It was great... Thanks Lynette and Jim! Lunch time is a great time for socializing.

If you have never been to one of these winter work weekends, you should try to make it sometime. They are a lot of fun, and a good way to see some of your Rollag friends in the off season! Keep an eye on this site for more scheduled weekends. There is one more scheduled for this season on April 21.
Watch for an update from louie with more pictures! The straddle truck is really looking awesome!
