Greetings all,

With a heavy heart I must report that Peter Kieffer died on Tuedsay, April 28 about 5:00pm while working on a piece of machinery at his farm shop. The news release said that he was hit on the head by a piece of equipment. I do not know more than that.

I will keep you posted with Prayer Service and Funeral dates as soon as I know them.

Please keep Joan and the rest of Peter's family in your prayers.

Jerry Christiansen

Very sad news indeed. Still am having a hard time with it.

Peter was a past President of WMSTR. If memory serves, from 1999 until 2003? He was a very kind man... never had a bad word to say about anyone, and was forever trying to mend fences when others (myself included) had issues with anything WMSTR, or anyone else on the grounds.

I will miss his words of encouragement, and his patient way of dealing with any problems he was presented with... and of course his bottomless jar of M&M's he always had in the Jeep.

Our sincere sympathy and prayers are with Joan and family. WMSTR has lost a great friend.

Truly one of the kindest men I've met. Peter was so supportive and had so many great words of wisdom & thoughtful advice. Our thoughts & prayers are with the Kieffer family!

To Joan and all of Peter's family.

I am going to miss Peter so much. I too was the recipient of a few jeep rides and some peanut M&M's. Peter knew just how to disarm an emotional situation and turn it to good. I so enjoyed the visits I made to the shop and the shop tours. I could always count on Peter for a good hearted session of keeping Rick on the straight and narrow!

The Family has had a huge hole ripped in it and we pray that Gods grace and peace will sustain them as they deal with this loss.

We're sorry to hear about him. :( dad and i were just talking about him the other day because we bought a Dyno on Sunday. and we remembered back to the days when him and Jim B built that one and used it. its now at Andover.

Peter was one of the first guys I got to know when I started volunteering at Rollag and was one of the reasons I kept comming back. He really went out of his way to make sure I could find/get whatever was needed for whatever project and provided endless encouragement. He really had great advice and a first rate sense of humor.

All the toys we have at WMSTR are sure neat, but the bottom line is its the folks that really make the time spend there worth while.

I'm very saddend by this loss...........

Sad news
I did not know Peter very well but I worked with him on the John Deere Expo. From what I gathered from him he was a kind patient person. If you where a member at WMSTR you where a friend of his. My deepest sympathy to the Kieffer family.
Rest in peace Peter

My deepest sympathies to Joan and family. We lost a great man who will be missed by all that had the pleasure to know him. Peter was one of my best freinds and I can't begin to think of all that i have learned from him over the years. The same man that taught me how to weld and run a turning lathe is the same man who made me realize what is really improtant in life - family and the ones you love.

God bless you, Peter. Rest in peace. :praying:

Gary and I will missing seeing Peter during the show. We never had a whole lot of contact with him but when we did it was always pleasureable and educational experience!!!!!! Like others have mentioned, he had a way about him that he was able to make difficult situations a little less tense when everything was said and done. God Bless your family as you grieve and heal!
