Malcolm Frisk
Malcolm Albert Frisk, known as “Model A” Frisk, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2009, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, to be with his Maker and his loved ones.
Malcolm was born December 27, 1917, to Minnie and Albert Frisk, at rural Hawley, MN. His farming career ended following his high school graduation in 1938. He married Myrtle Olson, a farming neighbor from about one and a half miles away, along the fence lines.
His life was devoted to his family, his church (Bethel Evangelical Free Church), his career at the Veteran’s Administration Center, Fargo, and the North Dakota Air National Guard, also Fargo, where he was an original member of the “Happy Hooligans.”
His love for his country and the military began with his service in the Army, in the European Theatre, during WWII, and spanned 32 years, to his retirement in 1977, with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.
Malcolm’s love for antique automobiles was never-ending. His name in the antique auto circuit was “Model A” Frisk. His love for his family, His Lord and Savior, for Bethel Church, along with a myriad of work colleagues, associates, and friends was truly exemplary.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, West Fargo, ND; son, James (Julie) Frisk, Fargo; three grandchildren, Laurie (Keith) Corliss, Daniel (Jennifer) Frisk, and Matthew (Cari) Frisk; and brothers, Maynard and August (Thelma) Frisk, both Hawley, MN. He was blessed to have 7 great-grandchildren, who all reside in Fargo or West Fargo. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Marvin.
Memorials preferred to Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Eventide Lutheran Home, or Sheyenne Crossing.
