The Showbooks are in on the Hill.

Betty has access to them. I bought one this past weekend... another great job Jean and crew! :congrats:

Just found out that I don't have to be to work until the Wed following Steam School. Looking forward to some projects on the Hill and looking at a new showbook!

I picked up my book Saturday morning when I was up to help pull out steam engines for steam school. The book made for some great reading (actually there was more looking at pictures then reading) when I was driving back home.

Another wonderful book and a big THANKS to everyone who puts in all the time to create such a great book year after year.

Jean,

Just got my showbook in the mail yesterday, (yah, slow to get it) - Excellent as always! Do you want a page from the camera guys for the 2010 book?

Hi Jean,

as long as this thread is back up, what is the deadline for 2010 Showbook submissions? I've been thinking about a story about my AC-B, but am finishing up some church history writing I'm doing that has a 1/9/10 deadline. :computer: Could try to write a story after that if you can use it.
Thanks!

Tim, yes I want a page from you.
Todd, deadline is Feb 15th. Yes, write that article and send some pictures with it. :)

Are you still looking for generational photos and stories?

WOW!! I just got my showbook. Great job. I just have one question; how come the deadline is feb 15? Does the showbook have the articles from the pprevious year or what, like how there were alot of john deere pictures in the 2009 book.

Yes Craig, I get pictures from the two previous years to use in the book. Members also send in their pictures. During the 2006 and 2007 Shows I took John Deere pictures. The board wants the current year's book to cover the current year's feature so the visitors can get info on the Expo/feature they are looking at. Then I run a review of the Expo/feature in the following year's book.(2009 I had the review of the JD Expo).

I chose Feb 15th because of the time it takes to put the pages together and proof them. I bring the book to Knight Printers by April. I really wish I had everything now so I have more time to work on them. Time crunch and all.

Yes, Rick, I still need pictures of ALL areas and especially stories. I've only gotten a couple stories so far. It makes it very hard to type, proof and co-ordinate everything all at once, so the sooner I start getting pics and stories in, the better they will be proofed and positioned.

Every new area needs stories and pictures...Like the Johnson Pavilion and the Milk house...as does other improvements. If you are a part of any of these, please send me a story & pictures.

Any takers out there for story writing? Anyone good at picture caption writing?

If any of you have generational pictures with stories, that would be so special. Be sure you put the names with the pictures.

I'm hoping this feature will get more parents and grandparents excited about getting their kids and grandkids involved in WMSTR. That's how we will keep going. Be a mentor, share your talents, be a friend. :thumb:
