I should be there. This time i will try and remember my rolling magnet.
-What is the slope on the schoolhouse compared to the depot?

I can't begin to say how much I appreciate the hard working crew that did such a great job of shingling the school house this weekend. I admit to having my doubts that this would even get done this summer ...but after seeing how you handled the Hickson Depot re-shingling job and hearing that the school house was next on your agenda, my confidence was lifted. Special thanks to Yancy for "taking charge" and seeing the project through from beginning to end. Thanks too to all of you who did the cleanup-I know I've NEVER seen that school yard look so good.
Again, my sincere thanks to an absolutely super crew on a super job!!

This weekend we shingled the school house. It was a huge project with 2 layers of interlocks, and a layer of cedar shingles. I would like to say thank you to everybody that came up for the weekend to help.

...I'll try to get some more pics up soon. Thanks everybody that showed up to help out.

Looking forward to more pictures Yancy!

I am sorry I missed this one.

Vern and I were buried in a project from for about 4 hours very late on Friday night and all day on Saturday... one we have been planning for 2 years and we finally got it done... at least for now!

I did get by the school house a couple of times before I had to leave for home, and I was really impressed by all of the people who were there to help! The roof was a little over 1/2 done when I saw it, and it looked great!

All of this shingling is a real pain in the tail, but it is so very important to saving the buildings we have. If roofs are not maintained, the rest of the building is ruined!

On behalf of the Board of Directors I would like to pass along our appreciation to everyone who takes on projects like this! Volunteers like all of you make the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion the outstanding organization it is!

Here are some more pics of the weekend. This is of the finished school house. You'll notice that we had to take off some siding. The flashing was in tough shape, so we ended up replacing it.

This is the back side. If you look close you'll see that we put different molding on below the drip edge.

It looks so good and more than that it is protected for a good number of years again.

Big thanks to all that helped. It is truly what WMSTR is all about.:thumb:
