Just a suggestion for some crossing guards or some people directing traffic at the east crossing. It would get pretty congested at times. If your pulling a shuttle with one of the big wagons, you need a lot of space to make the turns over the tracks. Some vehicles don't want to give you the space and you wind up sitting there looking at each other. It looked like the train even had to stop Monday because a camper was stopped on the tracks. It is hard to see if the train is coming if your coming from the south to cross the tracks. Very busy intersection.

P.S. - great show and great weather

I agree Dave, that's not a great intersection. With shuttles and cars trying to cross it gets tight. When the baker depot gets there it'll be harder to cross to the east. Making the crossing wider would help for now, but I don't know about a long term answer.

The good news is that there will be automatic crossing arms placed there by next years show. All of the equipment arrived on the grounds 1 week prior to the show this year... not enough time to get it done!

The real answer is to get rid of some of the traffic at the intersection. We eventually are going to have to come up with an answer to the cars and other personal vehicles moving around on our show grounds.

What about making that crossing wider at the same time? That would help the shuttles swing the corner and the traffic more space.

Yancy,

The crossing/intersection I was talking about is the east side by the north end of main street and the entrance to Snob Hill. It sounds like you are talking about the south east corner. I did not have any problems there. I agree it could be a little wider.
