WELL! I can't let the Ortner section be empty! How was the winter for everyone! We survived and are counting days until memorial weekend so we can do some playing. Our only request is that we start getting snow throughout the winter instead of getting all of it in March! I thought peeps might like to see a photo of a wonderful Ortner Crew! (If it worked!)

It came through good Dan but is a little small. You are allowed to edit to 620 X 280 and still get it onto the site. My picture editor actually allows a little bigger picture than that.
Great starting post. I hope you find the forum a good place for your group to discuss and display items.:)

Thanks, will try another one later. I have plenty! The first time I tried, I was over file size so it seems I got carried away and went to the other extreme! I am certain this forum will great for WMSTR and members for many reasons!

These may come up bigger! I'll get it down yet! The first picture is the crew again, hopefully bigger. The second is a pic of a little girl that road the train last show time. I loved her hat and I just knew she'd get in the book, but I was to busy to get photos to Jean. Oh well. Next year! The last is a couple of naughty, spunky boys that I remember well while conducting. They were quite a handful, but all in good fun! I'll post more. I should probably work now!

Hi Dan!
Shelly here from Kansas! I worked with you all this past summer for the first time while getting hours to take my test this year. I had a great time. As a result I found another small railroad not to far from me here in Kansas and was able to go and meet them and drive their steam train. It was much smaller than the Ortner but was a lot of fun as well. I had a couple of questions, I can't remember I know I looked at the plate on the boiler, but what is the maker of the Ortner train and also what guage is it? 15?
Thanks very much for the oportunity to work with you this past summer and I am planning to be up there this Father's Day weekend to take my test and hope to see and maybe have a chance to work again. Do you still have that pdf file of the Ortner available? Would love to see it.
Thanks much!
Shelly

Of course I remember you from last summer! Did you see a picture of you in one the the threads in here?
The train was manufactured by Wagner and Son out of Illinois. The guage is 14.25".
As far as the pdf file, PM me and give me your address and I will send it off to you. I cant post it here; the file is too large. To PM (private message) me, click on my username (dndlong) and there should be a choice to Private message me. I'll send the pdf via email. This is an instruction sheet that you are referring to, right?
Looking forward to seeing you on the grounds and chatting with you on here!
Dan (Dawn)
