Greetings all, and happy 2010.
I have setup a YouTube account for WMSTR, called WMSTR Media - You can locate it here: http://www.youtube.com/user/WMSTRMedia I know a number of us have videos on YouTube as well, and thought this would be a way to add to our Online visibility with a branded name on YT. Feel free to friend WMSTRMedia on YouTube, and if you'd like to have any of your videos uploaded under the name, send them to tim@rollag.com with a short description, and I will upload them!

Hey Tim have you and Chris ever talked about doing a "trailer" for our show video?

Rick,
Pre or Post show? We did an 09' trailer that we put up just after steam school promoting the 2009 show, and plan to do so again (earlier) for the '10 show. Putting together a 'post' show trailer is possible, we've been trying to make sure we get a quality DVD before anything else.
I could do a 30-60 second trailer/preview of what you'll see on the video, if that's what you are getting at.

I was thinking about a teaser for the video. A short trailer with the web address of where to order one.

Rick,
We can do a teaser, we just need to plan that into the tight timeline as well.. Luckily, Chris and I have every Thursday night blocked out between Albany and Thanksgiving to get this thing done (and the other 80 hours I put into it when we aren't working together.

Hey all,
Check out a quick clip for the Expo. Nothing too special (need to get better at filming ahead for the upcoming Expo)
But, here ya go.

Who is the chick in the shades? :rof:
Need a music track in the background, and no mention of the forum on the back end...

Mark..
Yah, Figured if we hit the top levels of things, people can mill around, I didn't list the media site either :) - I do need music, you're correct, I've pretty much abused the current tracks I have recorded over the last three years. I've got a system to record in the TMB this year (which is why we need more music down there)
Maybe I'll write some stock royalty free music in the video budget if we don't get anything new recorded this year.
I'll be getting more footage over Memorial Day and Steam School to put together more promos, so I'll be sure too have music in there and whatnot..

Since I've run out of projects outdoors at home, I thought I'd spend some time (in the A/C) and play with footage for this year. I tossed this little spot together, but we really need someone better looking than the goofball at the start of the clip..

Mark - I did find some new music, well, rather had a streak of semi-creative-thought and tracked that out myself.
If you have a fast connection and are brave, crank up the YouTube resolution for the 720 or 1080 quality, it looks great!

I could make 720 work well, and watched it full screen!
Nice cut-aways Tim... you are really getting good at this stuff!
I like the work you did with Clayton (sawmill) too. We really need more owners / operators / demonstrators to go on camera, or at least give you some audio to work with! It really makes the video!

Thanks Mark! I keep trying different things, transitions, music etc.. I'll keep plugging away and getting more stuff up - You're correct we do need more operator input, BUT it's getting better!
I'd really like to 'film-ahead' a bit, because I know one year we'll get rain, and I'll need footage to dust off in case we can't be out with the cameras.
