David H. Peterson, a resident of Buckman Township/Pierz, died Jan. 13, 2010, at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls.
An open house celebrating the life of David, will be held Monday, Jan. 25, from 1 p.m. -5 p.m. at the Little Falls V.F.W. Post #1112 in Little Falls, MN, just north of Highway #27 on 13th Street North. A private Christian burial will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in the spring when all the birds return that brought him so much joy. Military rites will be conducted by Little Falls V.F.W. Post #1112.
David H. Peterson was born May 28, 1930, in Minneapolis, to Fredrick and Verna (Linaenna) Peterson. He was a devoted husband, loving father and loyal United States soldier. He was a devout Christian that loved his Savior and his teachings. Farming, gardening and antique tractors were part of his life. Dave's love for music was a passion that he shared with his wife, Donna of 55 years, along with countless friends and complete strangers soon to become good acquaintances. David will be welcomed home by his beloved late son, Davey, to start his much anticipated second life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
David is survived by his wife Donna; daughter Dawn Peterson of Sun Valley, Idaho; sons Dennis (Cindy) Peterson of Pequot Lakes, Dan (Margie) Peterson of Osakis and Darin (Jennie) Peterson of Princeton ; grandchildren Debbie Peterson-Hanson, Donna Peterson, Jake Peterson, Jessie Peterson, Christy Peterson, Brett Peterson and Rebecca Smith and great-grandchild MacKayla Smith; brothers, Vincent Peterson of Nebraska, Vernon Peterson of Plymouth; sisters Marion Pierson of Minneapolis and Janette Tenhoff of Dassel.
He was preceded in death by his son Davey and parents Fredrick and Verna Peterson.
In lieu of flowers family prefers memorials to Unity Family Hospice of Little Falls.
