Greetings,

I'm starting to plan out the 2010 Show Video, and will be looking for anyone tied to the expo this year (and anyone in general) that would like to speak with Chris or I, (on or off camera)

We'd like to get a number of people from the Allis Expo crew, along with getting some info from the following areas:

- Miniature Land : Getting the youngsters involved early
- Prony Brake: How it works
- Railroad: Overview of the 353, Porter, and recent rail work
- Horse/Farmstead: Whatever you'd like to discuss
- Music: Importance of keeping music alive on the hill
- Ladies Activities: Overview of what contributions the Pioneer ladies played.
- Past Steam Queen: What did being Queen mean to you, and what did you gain from the experience.
- Montana / Steam Hammer: History of the exhibits

Basically, I'm looking for about 5-10 minutes of footage from each area of the show. Not all will make it in the video, and some may not be used this year. We're trying to plan ahead and have some footage on hand in case we have a rainy year that hinders us from playing with the camera outside when it's raining.

If you're interested, please let me know and we can setup a time during the show. As always, Chris and I will be wandering around with camera, so feel free to flag us down as well.

Also, I'll be on the hill for Memorial and Steam School weekends for sure if you'd like to get together then vs. showtime.

Hi Tim,

The Pabst Engine (an Allis Chalmers built engine) will be running during Steam School. We could get some video and record some history at that time if you would like.

Prony Brakes will be running for Breakfast on the Farm and Steam School. (Maybe we could twist someone's arm and have an engine running on Memorial Day weekend, too.) We can put together any type of video you would like; history / how it works or record numbers from a 'run' or sawmill demonstration or threshing demonstration . . . .

I will put together some history notes for both the displays. I will send you copies so you can make suggestions.

Later,
Jerry Christiansen

Jerry,

I know I can always count on you for some great information. I'm sure I will pick your brain at any and all locations around the ground when you've got things up and running. I know we have some information on the Pabst from '07, however if we can get some clean audio away from the engine, to voice over the video of the displays with a little engine noise in the back, the final output is far more enjoyable to listen to.

Thank you!

Just a tidbit of information - I've gotten in touch with my cousin Nick Hoffman, and he's agreed to grant us rights to use some of his music for the DVD this year. If you've picked up a DVD in the last three years, you've heard some of his music there as well.

Any other WMSTR musicians that would like some quality recording done away from the steam and background noise, please let me know and we can set something up, or if you have something already in digital format we could use, that would be excellent!

With all the work I've put into my camera car for this season, I'm already thinking ahead for 2011... - I wonder if I can float one of these into my budget request?

Tim,

If I vote in favor of buying one of these vehicles, do I get a set of keys for it?

Certainly, but you'd of course need to attend a safety meeting and get your ribbon.. One person cannot film and operate these solo :)

Jerry,

I've scaled back my dreams, and re-vamped my current rig, Much more stable and sturdy with new gearing.

Your second video (above) was my humor for the day Tim!

You did a great job on that project! You are going to get a lot of looks when you are cruising with that contraption around the show grounds!

BTW... Nice to see that someone else has a shop as "organized" as mine! :rof:

Thanks Mark.. I think I will be more trolling this year than cruising with this thing mounted on top..

And, yah, I've got about every tool in the shop out for this thing, usually it's far more organized, and clean enough for bare feet. :)
