New equipment and something very new and extraordinary to display with it. This will bring out the curious in the crowd at the show!!:thumb:

I spoke with one of the coordinators, Dave about this. He was passed my name as the Rollag camera man, sadly I was down at two shows near the cities and just was not in the cards to make it up.
The backstory I got, was they are going around the state making these large prints, and have been using a gasoline powered roller to do the job, but the notion of having an actual steam powered roller really got the group excited.
I'm glad this was captured by someone! - It looks like it would have been a neat opportunity to see!

Do my eyes deceive me or is that our Main Machine Man "Jim Briden" at the helm of the roller? What goes on out there on the flat prairies? Jim Briden is a "Closet Artist!

Jim Briden is a "Closet Artist!
I stopped by the shop and wished him Happy Birthday on Monday, and he and Wimpy were talking about how "Cultured" Jim had become over the weekend!
You know... he will have to put down the machine tools and the welding rods someday! Maybe this can be his new niche' :rof:

Thanks to everyone who gave us a hand. We really enjoyed our time in Rollag making steamroller prints.
Our group is called ArtOrg and we are out of Northfield, MN. We were up in your area last fall and made prints in Fargo with our Buffalo Springfield roller--a 1960's version with a Continental straight six engine.

Our recent trip was to print for mostly kids and some adults at five branches of the Northwest Regional Library system. We do this also with a steamroller, but a very small one. About 350 smaller prints were made at Red lake Falls, Thief River Falls, Greebush, Warroad and Warren.
Here is a small video that I made with my cell phone while at Rollag:

Thanks for sharing Dave! Very interesting work! Have you thought about doing some of this during the show? It would be a great demonstration!
Contests on getting Jim to go on video!
