The Water Wheel demonstration is expanding. In an effort to better handle our wonderful toy sales and demonstrations we are adding a building to move the sales and demo's out of the woodshop.

Item #1

I have marked out the location between the barns and Stairway leading down to Pioneer Village. We would really like to have the area level so that the front of the board walk will not have to be 2' off the ground.

We are hoping to start setting post on the weekend of June 11th if we can get the area leveled by then.

Item #2

We also have volunteers to display the covered wagon. I have marked (orange spray paint) an area behind the Rumsfeldt cabin that we would like to have leveled to make it easier to display it in that area.(it was my understanding that that area is no longer going to have campers in it and we would like to use that area for expanding Pioneer Village Exhibits, If any board members have input on this please let me know)

Item #3

We will also need assistance from the Electricians in dealing with the power line that runs through the area. It will need some relocating and we are hoping to get a electrical supply to the structure as well.

Item #4

I have heard rumors that there is a problem with the Soap Demonstration in it current location and would extend an invitation to have it relocated to the Pioneer Village. We can provide a continuous sales for them from our sales booth and think they would fit in really well with our area.

If they would like the building reloactated with some additional leveling next to our new structure it could be place in line with our store and the stairway. If the building is not going to be moved we could hopefully incorporate a small room on our new structure ( I think I can squeeze it in our budget).

I can be reached by email at dmoos@unitelc.com or by phone at 218.255.1123 for assistance or any issues that need to be addressed.

We would welcome any volunteers that would like to assist us with these projects.

Ambitious project(s) Don!

The last I heard you were going to put up a small building next to your boardwalk... sounds like you are taking it a little further!

Please mark it all out and be sure to get to a board meeting for approval before you start digging anything. We have to be careful how and why we move dirt around that pond. You would not want to have to "undo" anything you do! The board typically meets as a group at a site where there are changes like this proposed to discuss and approve the changes.

I don't think there has been a board meeting scheduled for June yet, but I am sure there will be one very soon.

I will be on the grounds the weekend of the 11th, and of course for Steam School. I am sure there will be a meeting one of those weekends as well.

Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the reply Mark,

This is why I was posting. Wanted to make sure everything was up to snuff. The original plan was to have it next to the Water Wheel, when the trailer was there, that was a part of the 2009 request. When we resubmitted the 2010 proposal, it noted a change of location. The sight is staked and marked for review.

As for the area for the Covered wagon that is just marked with spray paint. We will definately not proceed with out approval.

I can be available to come down and meet with the board or group Sunday June 5th or either Saturday or Sunday June 11,12.

I am not trying to rush anyone but the summer is short and the sooner the better. Let me know what will work out best for getting together.
