By now many have heard about a workplace accident in Fargo this morning.
The injured is one of our WMSTR family, Noren Ellingson.
While details are still a little sketchy, Noren is in the hospital. It is my understanding that Kath and kids talked to him before he went into surgery and he did respond.
He will be in the hospital for some time. Not sure of the whole prognosis yet, but I will try to update here as I get more information.
Thank God he is still with us, and please pray for a full, quick, and speedy recovery for Noren, and keep the Ellingson and Morken families in your prayers.

Jim and I have just arrived home after a visit @ICU @ Sanford. A very good friend, Noren Ellingson, was seriously injured at his job site this morning.
I am writing to each of you to ask your prayers for Noren and his family. The next 72 hours are most critical and I ask you to pray fervently for our Lord’s healing power over Noren. The family is leaning strongly on their faith and love for the Lord, and with all of us joined together in prayer, may God intervene in Noren’s recovery.

What a tragic loss--to his family, his friends, and to WMSTR. I will miss
him greatly in the B-R Sawmill--riding the carriage, making lumber and the occasional long shingle-oops! The family will be in my prayers.
Bottom line-this really sucks! -John

This is Sanders Ellingson Noren Ellingsons son and I just want to thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers, but dad went to be with the Lord last night at about 7. We thought there was a glimmer of hope tuesday night but after the ct scan wednesday morning we found out that his chances of survival were less than 5% and the best case scenario would have been a vegetative state in a nursing home with a feeding and breathing tube unable to talk or anything. With this we knew dad wouldn't have wanted this not only for himself or to put his family through that. So we decided as unnatural as the situation was we would take him off of the ventilator after everyone said there goodbyes. So after morphine and all of the goodbyes at around 4 or 4:30 thursday afternoon we pulled the ventilator and we were at peace knowing he would soon be with the Lord. After this he passed away at around 7 last night with my sisters, Sadie and Emily and my mom, Kathleen, and myself at his side holding his hand.

I am praying for all who knew Noren. He was truely a wonderful man. I still remember the first day I worked on the BR Sawmill. Noren was the one who trained me in on the carrige. He was such a caring, fun, easy going man and will be greatly missed.

Noren Ellingson, 49, Fargo, ND, died on Thursday, August 18, 2011, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Noren was born to Hartley and Erna (Lehrke) Ellingson in Fargo, ND, on January 12, 1962. He grew up on his parents' farm near Christine, ND. He graduated from Richland District 44 in Colfax in May of 1980 and then attended Dakota Aero Tech for one year.
He learned his machinist trade at Larson Welding and then worked for Alloway and was currently employed at Buhler.
Noren continued in the family tradition of restoring and operating old steam engines. He held a Minnesota Hobby Steam Engine Boiler license and participated with his family at the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion at Rollag, MN, every Labor Day weekend.
On May 16, 1987 Noren married Kathleen Ward from Glyndon, MN, and they were blessed with three children: Sadie, Emily, and Sanders.
In 1996 Noren and Kath joined a Bible study group where they first heard the biblical Gospel of God's saving grace in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ on their behalf. Through personal faith they received eternal life and, from that point, lived their lives for the Lord. They became part of the fellowship of a local group of like-minded biblical Christians where Noren became an active leader in the weekly ministry. Noren's faith in the Lord and his family were most important in his life.
Noren is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathleen; daughters Sadie and Emily; son Sanders; parents Hartley and Erna Ellingson; sisters Rynae (Victor) Klosterman, Roxanne (Dave) Morken;; mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Ward; brothers-in-law, Russ (Jean) Ward and Keith (Cathy) Ward; sister in law Colleen (Brian) Scherer; nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father-in-law, and nephew.

Thank you Sanders for sharing your very personal thoughts. I know it brought comfort to many of us on the hill this weekend knowing Noren's and your families relationship with the Lord. He will be your strength through this.
Please understand that your WMSTR family is there for you if there is anything any of you may need.
Your Sunday morning shift on the Avery is still open for you whenever you want to operate.
God bless you all.
Sanders E.
