Who would be the proper person to contact to take over operation of the Hoffman Engine? this engine belonged to my grandfather and has not been operated much since his passing.I am interested in maintaining the engine in a working order at the Hill for others to enjoy. It is currently in the Freeport building.

I would start with Mark Kirschenman.

We've been a bit shy about running it since:
1. its private property
2 We've heard the family was going to take it to some other show.
It's kind of been in a state of limbo for these reasons for the pask couple of years.
I'd like to know who owns it and get some idea as to weather we can run it and if its going to stay on the hill; since it's already concreted in place. We WILL take care of it and run it once that's straightend out.
Would the family be interested in selling or donating it to WMSTR?
I'd like to see it stay in the Freeport building and get run......

Tim,
My last reply didn't completely answer you're querry - If YOU want to come and run you're grampa's engine, along with anything else we have in the building, you're VERY welcome!
We usually test fire and run everything the Wednesday or Thursday before the show, which would be a good time to get her going.

What engine is the 'Hoffman' engine in the Freeport building? Are there any pictures to go with the story? I am not terribly familiar with all of those stationaries in there.
Thanks,
