Jane and I started taking care of some of the flowers at Rollag. Thanks to everyone else that takes care of flowers, too.

Do you know where each of these flower beds are located? Can you find the ones I missed and add them to this thread?

Later,
Jerry

Ok, I will admit. Mostly Jane takes care of the flowers. I can run the Thirst Quencher and give the little rascals a drink.

The last picture of flowers at Rollag that I have. I hope no one misunderstood and thinks that Jane and/or I take credit for all these flowers or take care of all these flowers. We have a few flower beds that we look after. I know who takes care of some of the other beds, but I have no idea who to give credit for some of the flowers.

Some people don't get to see the flowers in bloom because by show time some of them are done.

Later,
Jerry

Nice job Jerry and Jane!

Someone I was riding with commented on the flowers by the Hickson depot. The yellow ones. What are they?

It is indeed a huge job taking care of all of the flowers on the grounds. To add just a couple of more names to the list of "caretakers" I have seen Betty Anderson hauling water around in gallon jugs watering flowers. Also, Gail Gerich does a great job maintaining the Lady Bug Park area. I am sure there are others as well...

Ok, I will admit. Mostly Jane takes care of the flowers. I can run the Thirst Quencher and give the little rascals a drink.

Speaking of the Thirst Quencher... Did you notice the new "meats" on the steer axle of the truck? When I saw it sitting on blocks when I got to the grounds on Friday, I made a phone call to my brother Tim. He called back a few minutes later, and had them all lined up, at the Rollag price!

Special thanks to Jim, John, and Orvis Wahl (R & R Repair) of Hutchinson Minnesota for the donation of the 2 front tires and rims! Tim and I put them on the truck on Saturday.

Jane C., Rachel B. & I were flower fairies this past weekend delivering & planting donated flowers & plants around the showgrounds. We really need help keeping these beauties watered, so please PLEASE :praying: if you see a hanging plant or flower bed that looks a little thirsty, try to get it a drink so that they last throughout the summer til showtime. We really appreciate it!!

I saw you three ladies running around with cart loads of flowers all weekend! You efforts are much appreciated!!!

We need to get you something a little more user friendly, and not so maintenance intensive to do your watering! I talked with Jerry and Jane about it, and later saw Jerry and Gary Muhl discussing it. I wish someone would donate a 1 ton pickup (with or without a box) with an automatic transmission and power steering so we could put about a 500 gallon water tank on it and a small gas engine pump! Would that not be cool to get around all of the tight spaces with to water flowers?... and anyone could drive it on our hilly terrain!

I have it on my wish list! Maybe someone will read this and have one sitting around somewhere that they would like to donate to a great cause!

Thanks ladies!!!

Flowers look great. It's sometimes the small things that don't get noticed, and those 'small' things are not small tasks by any means. Sure, there are lots of big tractors, but all the little decorations, flowers, fresh paint and well maintained grass keeps the show tied together and looking great!

Thanks to all who help with the greenskeeping, flowers and other tasks that many times go un-thanked.

THANK YOU!
