pardon my military lingo, but what is the over all feeling of the forum regarding the 2007 show.

I thought the show went GREAT. The areas I am involved with went well. The Spark Shows went well, even if Friday's and Saturday's shows were pretty much horizontal.

All in all, the show went very well. It is the second year I have seen the show from a directors perspective, and though this one was much, much busier for me, for various reasons, it was a lot more fun... mostly because of the great weather we were blessed with.

I apologize I did not get around to see everyone at the show. I simply didn't have time. I really wanted to get in to see Crystal and Rachel and their crew, and see what they were doing with the youth... never made it. Sorry ladies...:( I see from at least one post on the forum that you made an impression on one family. even got some new members! If you made one person happy enough to write, there were hundreds more who were just as excited, whom you will not hear from. Congratulations on a job well done, and I hope you continue in some fashion in the future.

I heard a ton of positive things about the carnival, and to be fair... a few negative things too. The rides were always crowded, and the kids seemed to be having a good time. The negative all had to do with the demeanor of the carnival workers. They are typical "carnies" and while you kind of expect that sort of person when you go to a fair somewhere, you don't expect to see that kind of crew at Rollag. Overall, I would rate it as a success, and if we ever do it again, future boards will have some idea what to expect, and what to negotiate into the contracts.

Hey... The Porter ran!!! Outstanding Vern, Pete, and the entire RR Crew! This was a major highlight of the show!

Another huge highlight... 14 separators threshing at the same time! Outstanding Gerry!!! It was really 16 when you count the miniatures. I was in the bucket truck for the Saturday run with Tim, and it looked way cool from up there. Look forward to some great video from that event!

I worked some with Tim Dachtera and Chris Moen on the video stuff. Those two guys busted their tales. I think I heard they have 20+ hours of video to go over and put together what I am sure will be a great WMSTR DVD. They have big shoes to fill (Swed) but they are up to the task, and I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with!

I took a few pictures, though not as many as I would have liked. I will get them posted in the next few days. If any of the rest of you got any pictures... please get them up here! we want to see them!

Thanks to all of you who made the 2007 show a success!

I had reservations about the Carnival, now in retrospect I believe it was a success. In defense of the "carnies" I visited with one of the operators as my boys were riding the ride late evening on Saturday. He was very pleasant to visit with, yes he was tired he was up very early that morning getting everything ready. No matter how much we would like to keep a smile on our face all day it gets to be difficult. He gave me the history of their company and was very passionate about the carnival, he was 3rd generation.

I could have been a little clearer in my statement about the carnies. I didn't have a problem with any of them, as a matter of fact, the ferris wheel guy was really cool. What I should have been more clear about was that the only complaints I heard were related to the carnies, not the carnival itself, and those were few.

From the viewpoint of the Prairie Rose Boutique - the show was a huge success! Monday was a little more quiet than has been in past years, but the items sold in the boutique outnumbered years past. Am looking forward to next year, and am already working on next year!

From my perspective in the seat of the big shuttle, this show was fantastic. (I've had to apply brakes and throttle where I hav'nt before) The only complaint I heard was lack of (TP) in some of the pottys. Who knew that there would be waiting lines on the MENS side! Hats off to the folks that take care of the necessary rooms. It's a thankless job that I will thank you for now!Tim
