Was at the Central ND steam threshers show this week end and they had a great show with good weather. I ran the 40 Advance (aka water buffalo :D ) had fun and there was lots of action to see like Plowing, threshing, parades, the prony brake with Jerry C and Jim T. and spark shows each night. Lots of Rollag'ers around there working on different engines like the 110, 80, 32 Reeves, 40 Advance, 25 Aultman and a few tractors as well.
Thanks to the crew who set up the tent and made some meals for us!
Well i have some pictures here ill try to post. i had another post done then i had to finish it later and when i hit send it said i needed to log in :soapbox: :bonk: so here goes again. :hide:
1st should be a picture of Kelly Muhl and Amanda Mandt on the 25 Aultman Taylor, finishing up threshing on the big 40" wodden Minneapolis.
Next is a picture of Mark Petersons 110 on the brake. engineered by Kory Anderson and Lyle Stompf.
3rd is Mark Running his 110 on the plow with Mark Knox firing.

:bump:
Heres 3 more of the 40 cross compound Advance on the thresher. this is the only 40 horse left. theres one 30hp CC in Montana.
i did about a 1/2 of a load on Sunday then the Aultman finished up after the parade.
The only problem was that the show went by too fast
Will be looking forward to there 50th show next year:fest30:

I got a few Colin.

The problem here is that the forum was originally set up to be a Rollag thing. While I love the CNDSTR, I am hesitant to promote it here.

It is interesting though, since all of the people that hang out in the NW corner of the grounds are Rollag people, and would love a place to share their experiences at that show, and other shows we all attend. Andover would be another one. I have a lot of great pictures from Andover too!

I am going to bring it up with the WMSTR board, and the other moderators here, and see if they have a problem with us setting up an area of the forum for pictures and stories from other shows. I have an idea how we could make this work, but I need to check it out with the others first.

Until then, lets hold off on the pictures, etc. from other shows for just a little while. I should know something by the end of the week.

BTW... New Rockford was awesome this year! Outstanding weather!

We got the OK from the board. It is OK to post pictures and show what is going on at other shows. I think this will be a good move, as long as we remember that Rollag is home, and we keep our focus here.

I have a few pics from New Rockford that I will post here as time allows...

Colin,

In your second photo with Pederson's 110 on the brake, I notice a couple of Nichols&Shepards in the back ground. One appears to be a 20/75 dbl. cyl. rear mtd. while the other most likely is a 25/85 dbl. simple (exhaust shown on flywheel side of engine) side geared engine. Do you...or anyone, know anything about these two engines. There exact sizes and such. Thanks.

hi- ya that is Mark's engine. usually its ran by Mark Knox and his son. but they had to go harvest this year so it was ran by Kory A and Lyle S. PLowing was good this year. we all got to run or fire for a couple rounds:thumb: Where you there this year? im not quite sure if i know you?

Lawrence did you get all the N&S engines figure out? they have so many sizes and im not too good at identifying them. and i didnt look at them close enough to remember all the sizes that are cast into the valve covers.

oh and :birthday: to WMSTER fourm!

Colin,

I believe so....I'm under the understanding that there are three of them brutes. All three of them are 25/85 engines....one is a DSRM, another is a DSSG, and the third is a SSSG like Gramps, which he gave to me right after the boiler went bad on her. He always figured to give it to me, but decided it was time when the boiler went as he figured it would have to be left up to someone younger to get the job done. I have purchased the stationary boiler that was used at the blacksmith shop for years. I'm planning to put a new firebox in her and then it will undoubtably be good for the original 175psi that it was once rated for.
