I see on the calendar that the Fall Meeting is on October 27. We have never been to one before and would like to go. What time is it and where will it be held?

They usually start at 9 AM. There are various smaller meetings in the morning, and the general membership meeting and elections in the afternoon. All are encouraged to purchase the meal provided by the hotel to help defray the cost of the facility to the organization.
I can't remember the name of the Motel in South Moorhead, but Lynette will stop by here and let us know (I hope!)

What groups are usually involved in the small meetings? Just curious how this all works....

Going from memory, there is a steam meeting, railroad meeting, ladies activities meeting, gas tractor meeting, I think a feature / expo meeting, gas engine meeting, and I cannot remember what else.
The meetings are led by the leaders of that particular area of the show, for instance Jerry Asher would lead the railroad committee meeting, Jim Briden the steam meeting, etc. Those individual leaders will take notes on what is discussed, and then report it to the membership at the general meeting in the afternoon.
You pick what meeting(s) you want to go to, and there are a number of different rooms available to attend those meetings. I think they are all given an hour, and then you go to the next one that most interests you. Sometimes there are two going on at the same time that you might want to attend. In that case, you just have to pick the one you want to go to most.
During the general membership meeting, time is given for questions and input from the membership at large. If there are big decisions to be made, those are voted on at that meeting as well. Recent examples would be the decision to build the round house, and to buy additional land. If you have any questions or concerns about the operation of the show, this is a good place to address it.
Elections also take place at this meeting. This year we will be electing a new President and Vice President as Jim and Eric cannot run again for those respective offices. There are also 3 Directors who are up for election. I am not sure how many of them can, or will run for re-election. An officer can only serve 4 consecutive years, and a Director can only serve 2 consecutive 3-year terms.
If Lynette doesn't post it before I get the meeting notice and agenda, I will post it here as soon as I get the information.

Hi all,
The small (not all are small, they are just smaller than the entire group!) includes: gas engines, gas tractors, traction steam engines, stationary steam, railroad, music, ladies activities, prony brake, construction area, horse power area, main street, . .
I know there are others. This is not meant to be a comprehensive list, just a short list to get started. If anyone sees some I missed, add them.
Later,
Jerry Christiansen

Would there still be time to add a meeting for the Pioneer Village. I work with the water wheel demonstration and would like to see the area doing more. I would volunteer to head up the meeting. Hoping others share the interest. There are the wagon, outbuildings and practical demonstrations that could be presented in this area.

I think the hotel is the Courtyard at Marriott in South Moorhead.
I think I will try to make it although my busy schedule. Although we were just experimenting this year, the toy museum is something we would like to continue.

Not sure there is time, or space for any more committee meetings Don. We are spread pretty thin already. What I would do is put together a short summary of what you have done, and what you would like to see happen down there in the future, and present that during the general membership meeting. You will have 150+ peoples attention, and folks will be able to put a face with the name / project. Keep in mind the meeting moves pretty fast, and you should try to limit your comments to a few minutes so everyone has time.

Thanks for the direction. I will try to put together a short announcement that can be read by facilitators at general meeting.

It has been held both places. I am not sure where it will be this year. I will let you know as soon as I know. I might have to call Lynette!
