40's-50's John Deere 2 Cyl

Does anyone know the story behind the Heisler(?) aftermarket cylinder heads that were put on the two cylinder John Deeres for better specs? The B that I have been working on this summer had the head taken in to be re-ground, and the machinist told us that it was not a John Deere head, but rather a Heisler. Those were neat, old tractors!

You might try a discussion forum for John Deere...I belong to one for Allis Chalmers and the folks there are very helpful when it comes to specific questions about my AC-B...they can be very particular about the color of a tractor tho (all in good natured ribbing) Good Luck!
