WMSTR has received an inquiry from the Delano / Franklin Historical Society in Delano, MN. They want to have a steam traction engine at their 4th of July celebration next summer.

Is this a good idea? Is there someone who lives in the area who would be willing to help out with this? Delano is very close to the twin cities area, and if this is done right, it could be an excellent opportunity to get Rollag, and WMSTR on the map for the Twin Cities market.

We would have to work out logistics, and figure out how to move a traction engine on paved streets. Maybe someone knows of an engine that would work for this.

Post your ideas here!

i'm about 15 miles away and there are other members close by. Like you said it would be a real P.R. thing. I beat the drum as much as possible but this would be real show. The celebration at Delano is quite large. This would be a real logistical challange.

I beleave there used to be rubber pads that fit between the lugs on the shows 50 case. It was used in several parades in the summer before the 150th Case expo. I dont know if they still are around but they made the 50 into a parade engine with out doing alot of alterations to it. I am not sure on this either but I thought it was hauled with Jims pickup and trailer for some of those parades that year.

Thanks Pat.

There seems to be enough interest in this that I am sure we can make it work. I have had a number of PM's and I know there are people talking about it off of the forum.

I will ask the board about the rubber for the 50, and see if anyone knows what happened to them.

Mark,

I had the 50 Case on tour that year. I'll talk to you about it on Sat.
