I would like to let anyone interested know there is a work week end scheduled on January 12, 2008 at Larson Welding. There are quite a few projects lined up for some TLC and a fair amount of B.S. to take care of also!!

I think it was GKarels who asked me to let him know about these weekends. Are you watching this thread Gary?
Also, to those who might show up who have never been to one of these "events" before... there is usually pizza ordered at noon for lunch. The organization does not pay for the pizza. I think Jim usually shells out the $$, but a free will offering is encouraged. Most throw in 4 or 5 bucks. On some occasions, Lynette or someone else will make something in to eat in a crock pot or some "finger food". Either way, there is no need to plan on lunch as it made available in one way or another.
Be aware that lunch is when most of the "B.S." is taking place, and it is something that needs to be experienced... especially if Klinger or Whimpy are anywhere close by! :hide:
We will watch here for updates from Louie!

Yes I am. The calendar looks good for that weekend, so I am planning to be there.
Thanks Mark and Louie!

I can also remember a few times that there were some donuts in the morning but they are usually gone by 8:00 am or earlier if Wimpy gets there

You seem to imply that the BS is only at noon. It seems to me it is there all day and just intensifies a bit at noon.:)

I would like to say thanks to all that show up for work week ends. What is done for the show is amazing and those that live close enough can get some real experience that one would find no where else.
Jim and Lynette it is a very nice thing you are doing for the show and fellow collectors of old iron.
Rick and/or Mark some of the pictures taken at these get togethers should be put together as a slide show and shown at the appreation meeting at the show.
Back to the topic traveling trophy, I am sure that there are some take travel some distance to get greasy and dirty just for the love of the show and making it a success. Kind of like the show some of us travel some distance to work hard get greasy and dirty, but it is so much fun.

Jim,
Good idea on the slide show. We could show it at the annual meeting as well as the appreciation meeting.
Thanks

Jim:)
What sort of work is there to be done?? Any special tools needed like gloves or can it all be done with a fork knife and a nice chair? :hide:

If you want to bring whatever hand tools you can easily bring with you, that works great. A pair of safety glasses is also a plus, and gloves as well. If there is welding to be done, and you have a favorite welding helmet, bring that too!
I am not sure what is going on for sure... you will just have to show up and we will be sure everyone has a job.
