On February 17 a group gathered at Larson Welding to work on the Cadillac, the Stradle Truck and the Lull. I don't have names for every one in all the pictures, if you see someone you want to identfy, please do. Somewhere between 14 and 22 people were at the shop for the entire day with many others stopping in and working for an hour or two

Vern and Mark at work. After this Vern couldn't see for several minutes. Mark wisely shut his eyes so the flash wouldn't blind him. The Cadillac had been split in two and a new ring gear had been in stalled. Today was for putting the rest of the tractor together and mounting the loader.

Several hours later. The temporary hose on the pump allowed us to run the engine with oil in the pump. The new ring gear works good. The Cadillac starts. With new points, plugs and condensor it runs great! After this picture, John (Louie) Larson took the Cadillac some where and gave it a bath.

Both of the overhead cranes were needed to put the loader back on. As you can see in this picture and the next two, the front of the loader had to be held high so the mount that bolts to the rear axle could slip over the front axle and underneath the rear axle. Notice that the Cadillac is cleaner now.

All most in position. The Stradle Truck is visible in the back ground.

Out of space for pictures in this post, more in just a bit.

Finally, the loader is back on. The wheel weights and the big counter weight still need to be replaced. You can see one of the wheel weights leaning against the back tire.

Thanks for recording all of the work that you guys put into the machinery. Stories like this make the forums feel like we are all there with you. ;-)

Thanks CaseyD.

That is exactly one of the big reasons we wanted to start this forum. All the volunteer base seems to get cabin fever in the winter and wonders what is going on. This will hopefully be a way to keep everyone that is too far removed to join in on the winter activities involved and up to date. Please keep watching and posting.
