Runaway Fairbanks

I have a fairbanks 3hp z styled c. I can not get it to slow down it runs away HELP!!!!!!!!!!! :confused: The govenor is pulling back on the butterfly but still runs away.

Got any pictures Warren? Is the butterfly actually closed when it is "running away"? Sure is confusing how it could run so fast with no air supply....

I will try to get some pictures up here soon. Yes the butterfly is closed I have even pulled it back manually.

you may want to visually look inside the air way to see that the butterfly is really in there, it may be missing completely
