Did anyone else see the story earlier this week on Machinery of the Past on RFD TV about the guy from Langenburg SK. that had 6 threshing machines that he had gotten operational? It was an interesting story, but what really got my attention was that at the end of the segment, they said that he was hopeful that he could get the Guiness records people to recognize his 6 machines all operating at the same time as a record for the book. My first thought was wow, he is not even close with what we did last year. All of his were being operated with gas tractors as well.

That also got me thinking and wondering if anyone has thought about getting a video of WMSTR to be aired on RFD TV as a plug for our show. They are always running show videos on the Classic Tractor series that airs 3 times a week and maybe we should look into what it would take to get something done that would be able to be aired on there.

Maybe someone has already looked into that. I can imagine it could be quite a hassle with all the copyright laws, but if it could be done it would be great publicity. We have stuff already that is as good or better than I see on there or something could be put together especially for that.

Just a thought.

That would be a good idea and rather than him being in Guiness record we should be the ones not him.

Tim Dachtera is trying to get in contact with the right people at RFD-TV. We have some outstanding video of the 14+ threshers in our 2007 DVD. The goal is to get the entire DVD aired.

I am sure Tim will comment on this when he sees it.

I'm trying to track down the correct person with RFD, it seems to have grown quite a bit from when our shows were last aired, (from what I'm told) - SO it's just a matter of tracking down people that have the answers.

I'm also looking at some airtime in the Twin Cities markets, and meeting with a Comcast rep on Tuesday, so I hope to have more info to post after that, in regards to both airtime opportunities.

That guy From Sask was here a year or to ago and called since. he really thought he did something but all machines were smaller and gas driven like Darren said. we told him it takes a lot more effort to get the old heavey weight machines going, as well as the steam engines to run them.
quite a few machines were hooked up at a show in Wisconsin last year or the year before. there was pictures in Steam traction magazine. i dont think they had 14 but there was more than 6. lots used to get lined up at the Austin Manitoba show years ago. im glad i dont have to make and pitch the sheaves for that many machines:duh:
