Don't tell Jeff K or Gerry P, ;) but Dad I got to moonlight on a Russell at the Mankato Kansas show last weekend and jut wanted to post this to show Clayton. I got the invite to go help with this engine and spent two days working with it on a nice wooden Avery separator. The guy that owns it is 78 and the guy that has run it for him for the past 31 years is I think 85 or so. I basically got to fire and run things most of the time. This one has the smoothest throttle I have ever used on an engine and after having to replace a hand hole gasket that blew, it ran very well. It just got inspected for 115 lbs and it worked very well for what we were doing at 90-100 lbs. So at the risk of having to hear about it not being a Minneapolis in a month or so, here is a quick picture.

Nice engine, and nice spot for a picture!
It looks like that engine is all set for parading on asphalt streets! Also noted is the same goofy throttle linkage connection to the lever as the Larson Russell.
Thanks for the picture Darren!

Darren, you shouldn't have to worry about Jeff K and Gerry P. They asked us to park the Russell right next to them at the show this year! :rof:
Glad you enjoyed running the Russell, nice to see more pictures of Russells on the Forum. Make sure you stop by our engine and introduce yourself, so we can put a face with your name.

Clayton,
I will make sure to do that, but if you are parking by us, it should not be too hard to find you. I talked to you briefly at the steamup back in April but I know things were pretty focused on making sure your engine was operating OK. I am looking forward to the show, see you then.
