It is almost that time of year again and kermit and I would like to get some volunteers to help with the yard work out at the show grounds.
I am going to be getting some power equipment from where I work to help speed up the process but we need some bodies to run the machinery.

If you would be willing to help out please post here that you will be available and then p.m. me with your name and phone # and we will let you know when the leaves are ready to be processed.

we are going to need people to help pick up sticks and run them thru the chippers; people to run the walk behind string trimmers and leaf/yard vacuums ; people to rake and burn leaves and other general labor help.

I would like to see about 10 to 15 people as "many hands make light work"
thanks to all in advance!

Any plans being made Slugger?

The last weekend of October is the Annual Meeting so that would be out, but there may be a couple of other chances yet... Snow is not far off!

I have not heard from kermit nelson yet on the status of the project.
At my house all the leaves are not yet off the trees so it may be a bit early for this.
I also have not had any one e-mail me saying they would be available to help (HINT HINT PEOPLE).

Hi...

Kermit just called me but did not leave his number for me to call him back. He said that he was going to start on the leaves at the hill tomorrow at 2P. Unfortunately I'm headed to Omaha NE for the weekend and will not be able to help. Any body else headed out there tomorrow? Does anyone have Kermit's number so I could let him know?
Thanks,
Todd

Wish I could be there. Sounds like it will be a beautiful weekend... and thanks in advance to anyone who can help these guys out.

I will be trying to get the rest of the soybeans out of the lake!

EDIT.... Someone take some pictures so they can be posted here to show those of us who cannot be there how much fun we missed!

I was using a leaf blower to blow the leaves into kind of a windrow and Kermit would suck them up with the vacum

Kermit is shown here dumping a load I think there about 8 loads hauled that day and on 11/2 Klinger and I did about the same amount with the other leaf vacum The weather was perfect those two days But we only made a small dent in the leaves to be removed

Good pictures Louie!

Guess not a lot of folks showed up, huh?

If it doesn't snow, maybe there can be another weekend set up! This time of year we cannot count on the weather!

Thanks to Kermit for trying to get something organized, and to you and Harris for helping out (and others if there were any more).

As time goes on, perhaps this can be as big of an event as the wood cutting weekends!
