2016 Letter

    I am SUPER late with this!!! Here is the info needed for this year. I hope it isn't too late for anyone who is traveling far!

    Greetings Ladies!

    We hope you are all having a great summer!

    In 3 short weeks our show begins! If you are like us, you’re cautiously excited. Excited because who isn’t excited for the show. Cautiously because there is a lot of work to finish!


    As always we have been working on improvements and changes to the building; our lighting was upgraded in July (it is so much brighter!) and the floors are being freshened up.


    Cleaning weekend is set for August 27-28. The usual interior cleaning needs to be done; i.e. dusting, sweeping, window washing, vacuuming; as well as some exterior cleaning, raking, sweeping of the siding, window washing, etc. Any help is appreciated. Just stop by the building anytime.

    The displays for this year’s show are as follows:

    · “Cloths Line” display and the glass cabinets are kitchen items; potholders, homemade dishtowels/cloths, flour sacks, antique cookware, food packaging, etc.

    · Hanging quilt racks. WE NEED 1 BABY QUILT AND 1 LARGE QUILT! Please call Steph at 218-841-0513 or email wmstrladies@gmail.com if you are willing to share a quilt. PLEASE CONTACT STEPH PRIOR TO AUGUST 24 TO ARRANGE FOR PICK-UP/DROP-OFF OF THE QUILT! We try to get the quilts up Thursday at the latest but would love to be able to do it sooner if it works out. If you do not contact Steph ahead of time, your quilt may not be displayed.

    · Mannequins – Dresses will be on them, but antique aprons would be a great addition to this year’s display.


    As with all items you bring to display, LABEL THEM! Anything not labeled and left after cleanup on Monday will be stored with show items. Items can be brought to the building ANYTIME and we will store it appropriately. If you are dropping items off for display, please contact one of us so we can pick it up in a timely manner.

    Last year we put in a request for lighting and stain for the floors and that was awarded. We want to keep the progress going and will again be preparing a request for this year. If you have any ideas of projects or repairs that need to be done during the 2017 year, LET US KNOW and we will include them in the request. Please have an estimate of the costs and who will be the lead contact for the process.


    Steph has a lot of jars that were donated for canning and/or craft projects at the boutique. If you are can use these they are available. There are boxes with jars at the Ladies Building, if you do not find what you need, please contact Steph as she has more! The only stipulation is THE COMPLETED PROJECT IS TO BE DONATED TO THE BOUTIQUE. Remember to record your hours in the book and on your volunteer sheets!
