    For your information...

Power is now on in most places on the show grounds. If you have your camper there, please be sure to conserve power and help us conserve our checkbook! (Don't leave the A/C and heat on when you don't need it, etc.)

Water is not on yet, but I think the plans are to start that process on May 9. If you are there that weekend perhaps you can help! There is at least one major repair to be done before any water lines can be charged. Turning water back on is a HUGE job! You cannot just open a valve and turn on a pump. There are literally hundreds of areas where things can and frequently do go wrong, buildings flooded, etc. Vern Nanosky is in charge of anything related to water, so please contact him if you want to help out on May 9, or with any other concerns you have.

Remember, until we get some appreciable rain, burning is still off limits on the show grounds. Until water is turned back on and the water tower is filled (Tom Hall will take care of that) and a water truck is out (Gary Muhl) there is no way to fight a fire on the grounds.

Spring meeting is May 16. Things should be pretty much in order by then.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Always the last Saturday of September.

Sorry for neglecting to post this... I have been crazy busy and mostly disconnected from the rest of the world the last couple of weeks.

Giant THANK YOU!! to Vern for all of the effort preceding, during and following the main water blow out event on Saturday. Tons of planning and a continuing mission to make it go smoother each year will make this go better and better every time. I helped out a few years ago and was in on it again this year, he has definitely streamlined the process.
Thanks again Vern and all the others who come out to make this a manageable process!

And thank you Nick for arranging your generous contribution!

I have been informed in no uncertain terms that Vern will demand a "modern" compressor every year going forward!

I don't think the average member has any idea what is involved with the task of winterizing the show grounds water system. It is an 8+ hour job if you have a good crew of at least a dozen people. Vern has absolutely "streamlined" the process, and it gets just a little easier every year. Then... he personally spends most of another day alone running around double and triple checking things on his own! He knows the system better than anyone else in our membership, and is still learning more every year! He is taking copious notes so that going forward new people will have the information on the system... something we have not had until now!

Can't forget to thank Dutch for the copper air cooler! More on that later!

I join Nick in thanking everyone who helped out Saturday!

I would like to thank those that came out too help with this project it is one of those things that needs to be done each year.
Now for those that start early in the spring wanting to know when the water will be turned on. Make a date to come out in the fall and see what is involved in the blowdown process.and what is done to preserve our water system.
