To do's

Hello All,
With the nice weather and the likelyhood that some might want to get out to the hill and start in on projects, membership hours or just looking for something to do I wanted to take this opportunity to post a couple of items that could use some attention.

* Construction equipment in Expo area - several pieces still in central area that will need to go back to the Sandbox. Able persons with equipment moving expertise can contact Louie for direction as to where items can be parked and what may be required to make some of them mobile. The sooner this is accomplished the easier mowing and other duties can be performed.

* Firewood - still some leftover cutting / splitting to be done in central steam engine area. Other general cleanup can be worked on to facilitate easier mowing in the area and preparation for the show to come.

* General cleanup - lots of random improvements to be made can be found in many areas of the grounds that only take a little time or thought to improve upon. Sometimes it is easy to overlook how worn down or rough something has become when you just see it all the time, stopping and taking a frah look can sometimes be surprising! If you manage or work in an area, look around it and ask yourself if there are items that should be dealt with, repaired, discarded, etc. If they are items you are unable to deal with, forward on, post a request or contact a board member to find a solution. Examples: stumps, tripping hazards, items that are no longer utilized, functional or safe (broken / dilapitaded benches, etc), need paint, repair, etc.

If you manage an area or are aware of general repairs or improvements that need to be completed, please post those items or contact a board member to make aware the needs. Several members look for projects to work on but aren't sure where to start, what needs to be done or who to contact regarding details or materials.

Plans are in place to revive the bulitan board in the Admin Building soon. Look for or post needs there as well.

With the spring meeting coming up on the 16th, I have already heard of several plans for projects that will be taking place that day. Please communicate where help will be needed and what people might be able to bring along or prepare for. As an example, if somebody has an extra dump truck we could sure use one (or two!) for a project at the Ortner Railroad that day. Please contact me if you can be of service.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to all the hardworking members that diligently put in the time and effort to make our show great.

Thanks again and hope to see you soon!

Hi all,

Memorial Day Weekend is soon here. This looks like a good time to bump this thread to the top to remind us of projects on the hill.

Who is planning on being at Rollag Memorial Day Weekend?

What projects do you plan to work on?

Later,
Jerry Christiansen
