Hi all,

Saturday was a perfect day in more ways than one. The weather was great and a good crew showed up at Jim's shop for the work weekend.

More work was done on the little diggers

Doxey was sanding parts for final fit before welding.

January 136.webp

A bit later Merle and Josh were drilling holes.

Merle welded the parts together.January 148.webp
Bryce was assembling the diggers. By the end of the day all the diggers were assembled and ready to be painted.

The air tank on the loader project that was started last month got finished up. Bob M and Louie worked on that. Here a couple new Rollagians, Kathy and her dad Hank, drained the fluid from the final drives.

January 144.webp
Of course they refilled the final drives with fresh oil. Marlyn H suppervised the refill.

January 139.webp
Pat (above) and Kelly (below) worked on grates for something. I forgot to ask.

Jack was working on the grates for the half scalle 110.

After he got the food cooking, chef Jerry sat down for a rest.

More coming,

Hi again,

Alex M and Alex S have been around Rollag for awhile. They are each have a few gas tractors. They put the radiator back in the Ingersoll Rand air compressor.

January 147.webp
Alex is working while Marlin, Alex, Seth and Klinger look on. The engine didn't want to start after the radiator was installed. After a bit of searching we discovered that the 4 inch long piece of rubber hose between the fuel filter and the carb had failed. It fell apart internally and plugged itself. After a new hose was install, it ran like a top.

I should have warned Alex about getting your picture taken with a donut in your hand before I took the picture.

January 132.webp

One of Alex's grandfathers owned 3 different steam engines. Alex has some pictures and is hoping to get the engines identified.

Some more shots of people working.

A big thank you to everyone that showed up and helped! We will not have a work weekend in April. April 9 is Steam Up. See you then and there.

Later,
Jerry Christiansen

Thanks for doing such a great job documenting the work weekends (and the Port rebuild) this past work weekend season Jerry! I know I can speak for many who are unable to attend that your efforts are much appreciated!
