Hi everyone,

The Loading Dock Gate got an update. Instead of two gates to unlock manually and swing open, there is now an electronic gate that opens up with your fob. The new gate has a 30 foot wide opening. Here are some pictures of the installation that Mark K took when he was in the bucket truck and sent to me.

Craig M, the master mind of the project working in the box that has the motor that operates the gate.

Some of the trenches for wires. Vern N is sitting on the tailgate of his pickup.

A new, wood pole on the left with a trench that goes over to the power box and brain box. If you look close, you can see Craig working in the operator box.
The tall, steel post near Craig will have a streetlight and fob reader.

A slightly different view. Craig is still in the trench, Vern is still on the tailgate of his pickup. I am on the trencher filling in part of the trench from the building to the streetlight pole.

We had to do a bit of trenching. The long trench brings power from the light pole north of the scale down to everything on the south end. The "Y" to the left brings power over to another streetlight.

A wide angle view of the project. These pictures were taken on Saturday. By the position of the sun you can tell is it later in the day. By the end of the day Sunday the gate was operational.

To enter this gate, pull up by the fob reader/ key pad and hold your fob close. The gate will open for you. The key slot at this gate is ONLY FOR THE SHERIFF personnel. If you have a metal gate key, it will NOT work at this gate.

Later,
Jerry C
