Announcing an educational opportunity for anyone looking to learn some past technology, current practices, or how to get involved in a great organization and a great hobby. We call it “Rollagology”. Using the suffix “ology” meaning “the study of” and adding it to Rollag, it means the study of all things Rollag. It’s an effort to pass on the knowledge of, and expand on, the membership of our organization. How do we propose to get that done? We offer different classes each year that are either directly related to exhibits at our show, or try to pass on some knowledge that might help restore or make a future exhibit at our show. In 2026, Rollagology will happen on July 11 and 12, at Steamer Hill near the fair city of Rollag in the great state of Minnesota.
You need not be a member of our organization (although we welcome members old and new), you need not attend the show on Labor Day Weekend (although we welcome you to), you just need to cover the $40 per person fee for the weekend and be at least 14 years old to attend alone, or be accompanied by an adult if younger. The fee covers any materials needed, 3 meals, and camping if you choose.
So how do you make this happen? On our web page, rollag.com, there’s a direct link to the registration for 2026 classes. UNFORTUNATELY, our internet provider upgraded the platform on which our internet resides and we’re having trouble getting the registration software to operate. Not to worry! Rollagology is happening as stated above. Keep an eye here and we’ll announce as soon as possible that registration is open. Below is a list of classes, you’ll be able to pick two of the 4 hour classes and two of the 2 hour classes:
Horse Power Area Operations (4 hour class offered Saturday and Sunday morning)
Welding Basics (4 hour class offered Saturday and Sunday morning)
Stationary Internal Combustion Engines (4 hour class offered Saturday and Sunday morning)
Ice Cream Making and Scooping (2 hour class offered Saturday afternoon)
Sewing a Pleated Skirt (2 hour class offered Saturday afternoon)
Railroad Depot Operations (2 hour class offered Saturday afternoon)
Stay tuned, stay warm, and be well.
