Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we plan to start remodeling the lower lutefisk shower on Saturday July 11. Existing shower stalls will be removed and replaced. Plans are to have 3 showers on each side (men and women) and improved fixtures for ease of use and for winterization.

The showers will be unavailable until finished, but toilets and sinks will be operable.

We will be doing demo this weekend and formulating plans to figure out how to plumb and frame out for the new stalls.

I was not planning on leading this project, rather just get everything lined up. We have everything we need on site, have since last year and it needs to get finished up.

If you can help this weekend, especially if you use this facility, just show up and get in on the action! Should not be a real big job once it starts going back together. If we don't get it finished by showtime... well, lets not think about that!

Thanks, and spread the word!

Thanks for the info and the update on the shower house. I am looking forward to seeing the progress. I won't be available to help this weekend.

I'd be out there to help.
But, I've had heat stroke before and I can't handle the heat indexes forecasted this weekend.
You guys drink plenty of fluids and take breaks as necessary.
I really hope the A/C in the Mercantile has been turned on for this weekend.
Stay safe everyone.
Drink fluids.
Take care,

We got a good start. Help was pretty hard to find on Saturday, but there were a lot of other projects going on and Rollagolgy was in session so that took some bodies away.

Art and Amber W and Matt E started the process on Friday by tearing out the 4 old shower stalls and dividing walls on Friday. I was not there so no pics from that day.

Saturday Vern N, Craig M and I started breaking up concrete to re-plumb the drains for the additional shower stall on each side. It was insane hot! We played out at about 4:00 that afternoon as we didn't want anyone to have heat stroke. The mens side is broke out and ready for plumbing drains and the women's side is broken up, but the concrete still needs to be removed from the cut area. We did not work on Sunday because of the forecast.

We will be working on this project nearly every weekend up until show time. If we don't get it done, camera in that area will have to shower elsewhere, so bring whatever tools you have and a good work ethic and we will find something for you to do! Right now the concrete chunks need to be cleaned out of the cut lines on the women's side if you need something to do before next weekend.

We especially expect able bodied people who camp in that campground to be available to help when time allows. There will be 3 stalls per side when we are done! A good coat of paint will be needed as well! Maybe the women's could be pink or something this time around!

Private message me here if you have any questions please. I will try to check in once a day.

Thanks to the crew for the work! Thanks for the pictures showing progress! That was a miserable day to do anything outside of and air-conditioned space. I am looking forward to seeing more pictures and the final product. I will not be available this coming weekend.
